The house is in the Algarve on a property of 18 acres. It is located by the natural preserve of the Rio Formosa, a protected migratory route for birds. It overlooks the sea and is protected from the ocean by a laguna. The landscape changes continuously with the tides.
It is 20 minutes from the little town of Tavira. 45 minutes from the airport of Faro, 2 ½ hours from Lisbon. On the other side, it is 20 minutes from the Spanish border and 1 ½ hours from the Sevilla airport.
La Quinta do Muro is a project by Pierre Louis Faloci, a French architect who built it between 1983 and 1988. He received the prize “ L’Equerre d”Argent” in 1996, the highest French prize for architecture.
La Quinta do Muro is a 1200 m2 house facing south overlooking the sea. Facing north, it overlooks olive and almond groves, an English garden, a vegetable garden and an orchard of assorted fruit trees, and neighboring vineyards.
It is composed of 3 buildings: Corpo A, Corpo B, and Corpo C
